| Ham slices(pkg. sliced ham works well) | |||||||||
| Sharp cheddar cheese, sliced | |||||||||
| 6 | Eggs | 6 | |||||||
| 1/2 tsp. ea | Salt & Pepper | 2 mL ea. | |||||||
| 1/2 tsp. | Dry mustard | 2 mL | |||||||
| 1/4 cup | Minced onion | 50 mL | |||||||
| 1/4 cup | Green pepper, finely chopped | 50 mL | |||||||
| 1 to 2 tsp | Worcestershire sauce | 5 to 10 mL | |||||||
| 3 cups | Whole milk | 750 mL | |||||||
| dash | Hot pepper sauce | dash | |||||||
| 1/4 lb. | Butter | 125 g | |||||||
| Special K or Crushed Corn Flakes | |||||||||
In a 9" by 13" buttered, glass baking dish, put 8 pieces of bread. Add pieces to cover dish entirely. Cover bread with slices of ham. Lay slices of cheddar cheese on top of ham and then cover with slices of bread to make it like a sandwich. In a bowl, beat eggs, salt and pepper. To the egg mixture add dry mustard, onion, green pepper, Worcestershire sauce, milk and hot pepper sauce. Pour over the sandwiches, cover and let stand in fridge. overnight. In morning, melt 1/4 lb butter, pour over top. cover with special K or crushed corn flakes. Bake, uncovered, 1 hour at 350°F [180°C] Let sit 10 minutes before serving. |
