SAUCE |

| 2 cups | Brown sugar | 500 mL | |||||
| 2 cup | Water | 500 mL | |||||
| 1 tbsp | Butter | 15 mL | |||||
| 1/2 tsp | Vanilla | 2 mL | |||||
BATTER |

| 1/3 cup | Cold Butter | 75 mL | |||||
| 1 cup | White sugar | 250 mL | |||||
| 2 cup | Flour | 500 mL | |||||
| Pinch salt | |||||||
| 3 tsp | Baking powder | 15 mL | |||||
| 3/4 cup | Milk | 375 mL | |||||
| 1 tsp | Vanilla | 5 mL | |||||

SAUCE In a large saucepan mix brown sugar and water together and bring to a boil. Reduce heat to simmer, add vanilla and butter, cover while preparing batter.
