| MUD COOKIES |
My son used to love to eat Mud Cookies when he was small. He delighted in telling his friends, "Mom lets me eat mud."
For a creamy mixture and a smoother taste, mix the peanut butter with the vanilla before stirring into the batter. Makes 4 dozen

Butter or margarine, softened |
125 mL |
| 2 cup |
White sugar |
500 mL |
| 3 tbsp |
Cocoa |
50 mL |
| 1/2 cup |
Milk |
125 mL |
| 1/2 cup |
Peanut Butter |
125 mL |
| 1 tsp |
Vanilla |
5 mL |
| 3 cups |
Quick-cooking oats |
750 mL |

Heat butter, sugar, cocoa and milk in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and boil hard for 1 minute. Remove from the heat.
Stir in the peanut butter, vanilla and oats. Drop by spoonfuls onto waxed paper or a cookie sheet. let cool.
