ITALIAN MEATLOAF |

This recipe comes from Southern Living, its not really a company dish, but for overnight or weekly guests, they'll be impressed. Serves 6 |

| 1-1/2 lbs | Ground Beef | 750 g | |||||||
| 3/4 cup | Italian seasoned bread crumbs | 175 mL | |||||||
| 1/4 cup | Catsup or chili sauce | 50 mL | |||||||
| 1 | Beaten egg | 1 | |||||||
| 2 tbsp | Parmesan cheese | 25 mL | |||||||
| 1 tsp | Worcestershire sauce | 5 mL | |||||||
| 1 | Small minced garlic | 1 | |||||||
| 1/4 tsp | Dried basil, thyme, parsley | 1 mL | |||||||
| 1/4 tsp | Salt and pepper | 1 mL | |||||||
| 1 | Small red pepper, cut thin 2" strips | 1 | |||||||
| 1 | Small onion, slices and separate into rings | 1 | |||||||
| 3 | Fresh mushrooms, sliced | 3 | |||||||
| 2 slices | Swiss cheese | 2 slices | |||||||

Preheat oven 350°F [180°C]. Combine first 9 ingredients, shape on wax paper 18x12" [45x30 cm]. Layer red pepper, onion, mushroom slices and cheese, leaving 1" [2-1/2 cm] margin on edges. Roll jellyroll style starting at short side using paper to lift and roll. Pinch edges and ends to seal. Place loaf seam side down on lightly greased broiler pan.
