GREEN BEANS, CELERY & ALMONDS |

Add a little variety to plain old green beans. |

| 3 to 4 stalks | Celery thinly cut diagonally | 3 to 4 stalks | |||||||

| 1/2 | Small onion | 1/2 | |||||||
| 1/4 cup | Slivered almonds | 50 mL | |||||||

| Parboil beans 3 minutes. Rinse under cold water, cut into 3 inch [7-1/2 cm] lengths. Sauté onion and celery in butter until crispy tender. Add beans, sprinkle with salt and pepper. In a small frying pan, melt a bit of butter, add almonds and sauté until golden brown, stirring continuously. Add to beans and serve. |
