MICROWAVE CHEESE SAUCE

This easy to make sauce is super on an omelet or drizzled over vegetables.
Makes about 2/3 cup [150 mL]

2 tsp Butter 10 mL
2 tsp Flour 10 mL
pinch Each of salt, pepper, dry mustard and garlic powder. pinch
1/2 cup Milk 125 mL
1/4 cup Shredded Cheddar cheese 50 mL


Melt butter in a 2-cup (500 mL) glass measure on High for 20 to 30 seconds. Add flour and a pinch each of salt, pepper, dry mustard and garlic powder. Whisk in milk. Cook on High for about 2 min. or until thickened, stirring carefully 2 or 3 times. Add shredded Cheddar cheese and stir until melted. Serve immediately, or cover surface with plastic wrap and refrigerate. Reheat gently at serving time.
