CHOCOLATE BROWNIES |

| 2/3 cup | Butter or Margarine, melted divided | 150 mL | |
| 3/4 cup | Unsweetened cocoa powder | 175 mL | |
| 1/2 tsp. | Baking soda | 2 mL | |
| 1/2 cup | Boiling water | 125 mL | |
| 2 cups | Sugar | 500 mL | |
| 2 | Eggs | 2 | |
| 1-1/3 cup | Flour | 325 mL | |
| 1 tsp | Vanilla | 5 mL | |
| 1/4 tsp | Salt | 1 mL | |
| 10 oz. | Semi-sweet chocolate chips | 300 g | |
| 1/2 cup | Coarsely chopped pecans | 125 mL | |
| 1-3/4 cup | Hot water | 425 mL | |
Preheat oven to 350°F [180°C] Generously butter 9x13 inch [23x33 cm] baking dish.
In a large bowl, combine cocoa and baking soda; blend in 1/3 cup melted butter. Add boiling water; stir until
well blended. Mix in sugar, eggs and remaining butter. Add flour, vanilla and salt. Stir in
pecans and chocolate chips. Pour into well greased baking pan, bake for 35. Underdone is better than overdone!! Cool
